Focal Near Field Monitors - April 16, 2007
Just added to the choices of monitoring speakers at Birdland are the Focal Chorus 806-V. These are the first near field speakers that we trust (more than the Yamaha NS10m's) as far as our mixes translating well on other playback systems, from boom boxes to audiophile systems.
Yamaha CP300, the flagship of stage pianos finds new home at Birdland - March 1, 2007
We finally retired our Up-Right Acoustic Piano and purchased a Yamaha CP300 Digital Piano. The CP300 features a 40MB 3-Layer stereo piano sample with sustain and key-off, and graded hammer action keys. The CP300 piano gives you the same pedal control as an actual grand piano. There’s also a wide variety of other dynamic sounds, including vintage electric piano, organ, guitar, strings, and much more. This thing ROCKS!
Jazz Media Services wires up Birdland - February 12, 2007
With the purchase of the new Trident console it was necessary to re-wire the entire studio. We choose Jazz Media Services to carry out the complex task of building all the wiring harnesses, snakes, insert, output and return cables that would be needed to change over from an un-balanced to a fully balanced system.
Jazz Media Services came through with flying colors! The quality, workmanship and attention to detail are truly works of audio art.

Trident Analog Console and Alesis HD24 Recorders! - February 11, 2007
New paint, new carpet, new equipment and cleaning out 26 years worth of stuff we have accumlated, we are finally ready to open!
We purchased the new Trident 8T-32 Channel Console along with 2 Alesis HD24 24 track digital recorders.
We have an array of Audio-Technica, AKG, Sennheiser, CAD, and fresh Shure 57's. We have 8 channels of Black Lion Audio compressors (these things are amazing) Lexicon, Yamaha, Korg, TC Electronic effects. QSC power amps, and the best monitoring system we've heard.
With the Alesis HD24's Birdland is the perfect place to cut your basic tracks, take your tracks with you and do the overdubs, then return to mix your project without any summing or latency problems.
Call Owen or Jeff to set up an appointment, bring some of your favorite disks or tracks you've recorded and check our playback system.
